FAQ's:

How can Jon Stroll help me with my music career?
Jon brings over two decades of experience working in many different aspects of the entertainment industry. He is classically trained, and has worked with many well-known recording artists. He has mentored, taught, and advised many people both in the United States and Canada. He can help you develop your craft, and can also share his expertise at marketing and promoting your creative efforts.

I don't live anywhere near LA or Toronto, Canada. How can I take advantage of his services?
While in-person teaching and training can be useful if you are located near either LA or Toronto, much can be done by sending Jon CDs of your work, e-mailing MP3 files, communicating by phone or e-mail, or having Jon travel to you. Phone consultations are especially helpful once material has been sent to Jon. For in-person coaching and training, Jon is available to travel, if his expenses are paid.

Will Jon work with me on my project?
In some situations, Jon may personally become involved in your creative project. He has excellent resources in LA, Toronto, and New York, and can write or help you finish songs you have written, help produce a CD of your singing, select material that would be right for your voice, or turn you on to associates that he works with. He will work with you if he genuinely believes that he will take your project to the next level by becoming directly involved.

What kinds of musical styles is Jon most comfortable in?
Although at the beginning of his career, he was a songwriter and wrote mostly pop and rock songs, the requirements of creating music for commercials and music for TV and film are that each job is completely different. He is equally comfortable with classical, rock, techno, celtic, pop, r&b, and country, as well as many other genres. In fact, over the course of his career, he has composed, arranged, played, and sang many different types of music.

I don't know how to read music. How can Jon help me?
Many successful composers and singers do not know how to read music. Today's sequencing and composing technology allows someone to play parts into their computer, and if necessary, musical parts can be printed even though the composer doesn't know how to read music. Also, there is a sense of musicality that is not dictated by the ability to read music. Some very talented and successful singers never learned how to read music. Of course, if you want to learn how to read music, he can help you learn quickly. Jon can assess what your musical strengths are and help you achieve your potential.

How does Jon work with my school or group? We want to learn how to develop the skills to succeed in the music industry.
The more specific your goals are, the better Jon can target his group training. He has had much experience teaching and mentoring talented people who don't really know how to develop their skills. He will travel to you and take the time in a group setting to show what you can do. He still will be working individually with each of you, and it will be a valuable learning experience to watch how each of your questions are answered.
Jon can make each person's creative issues an informative and entertaining experience for everyone.

Can Jon refer me to people that will help further my career?
Yes. Jon is very active in the television and film business, as well as songwriting and commercials. He knows people in many different positions at production companies, managers, agents, artists, and many others. He can help you target your efforts in the direction they should go. While he won't refer you to people until he feels you are ready, he will work tirelessly to help you become the best musician or artist you can be. At that point, he will be happy to refer you or work with you himself.
